Lourdes Giese, M.D. - Pediatrician
Dr. Lourdes Giese was born in New York, N.Y. and grew up in Puerto Rico. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, Florida, and her medical degree from Indiana University. She completed her pediatric training while in active duty with the U.S. Navy and continued to practice with the military until her move back to Indiana in 1998. Dr. Giese is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Her medical interests include care of newborns, developmental pediatrics, and asthma.
Dr. Giese is very active in community pediatrics in Bloomington. In addition, she has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for six years, volunteering to help abused children as they navigate the court system and foster care. She is fluent in Spanish and has been teaching it at the elementary school level for five years. She is very active in martial arts and has her black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
